pleased Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there — the mothers to human children, the cat mothers and canine mothers and rabbit mothers and mothers to all the fur kids. and we all know that our kids can be biological and non-biological. Sometimes, our kids choose us, and I was lucky enough that Tabs chose me. He will always be my oldest boy.

It’s funny, but even though I was technically his lackey/assistant/underling, I still felt like he was my 20-pound furry baby.

There are snapdragons, which I didn’t plant, blooming in a planter on the deck, and I think they’re his way of wishing me a pleased Mother’s Day, like he’s saying, “You weren’t completely terrible, and I kinda liked ya.”
