150 Day No-Buy as well as YDSMBSM

weird title for a post, huh.

Firstly: yay, it’s Day 150 of my No-Buy!  Only 186 more days to go… (for those of you who don’t know, I’m on a yearlong No-Buy, however I had to restart it in Jan since I broke my No-Buy with a Target haul.  My No-Buy ends on Dec 31st.)

Now, what does YDSMBSM mean?  It stands for:
You Don’t save money By costs Money.

It’s something my economical bf states to me in response to when I try to validate my latest purchase, “I got such a great offer on it, it was 50% off!”  To which he’d say, “You Don’t save money By costs Money.  You still spent money to save that 50%.   If you didn’t buy it at all, then you would have saved 100%.”  Party pooper.  But he did have a point.

Here’s a lot of crap deals that I bought last year since I discovered them in the clearance section:

What did I requirement an orange eye shadow for?  And a hot pink lipstick? I’ve never ever even used that lipstick!

Let’s have a better look at these “deals”:

Maybelline color Tattoo 24HR cream Eyeshadow in #10 Fierce as well as Tangy – $1 (reg $9)
I checked out somewhere that this might be utilized as a salmon colour under eye corrector. This is method as well orange for my skin tone. I’m a fool.

L to R: Fierce as well as Tangy, Pepsy Coral, Magnetic CoralL’Oreal color Infallible Eyeshadows in #034 Pepsy Coral as well as #039 Magnetic Coral- $1 each (reg $11)
These are truly similar to every other, so I’m not sure why I had to have both. Oh I understand why, they were $1 each, that’s why!  I’ve used these shades perhaps when each.  I just don’t wear pinky coral eye shadow looks frequently – I believe these may make nice blushes, actually.

L’Oreal visible lift blush in #706 Berry lift as well as #187 nude Lift, L’Oreal Magic Souffle blush in #844 Angelic – $1 each (reg $17)
The visible lift blushes have a spongy structure similar to the Maybelline dream Bouncy blushes. These are not pigmented as well as do not last long on the cheeks. I do like the nude lift shade as a cheek highlight though.

L to R: Berry Lift, nude Lift, AngelicThe Souffle blush is discontinued now, I believe. It’s a mousse blush, as well as this shade is not pigmented – I barely ever utilize cream blushers so this sits unused in my drawer.

Sally Hansen Fuzzy coat nail polish in wool Lite and Tweedy – $1 each (reg $8)
These are weird!  They honestly look like fur on the nails. I’ve only used wool Lite (pink as well as white) as well as eliminated it the extremely next day since I appeared like I had hairy nails.  And what a removal it was – you believe shine polishes are a pain?  The bit confetti bar fur bits had to be scrapped off piece by piece even after utilizing the foil technique for shine polish removal. It was a horrendous process.  What possessed me to buy 2 colours? only $1 each, sucker.

Elizabeth Arden remarkable Lipstick in #49 Pink Vibrations – $6 (reg $23)
I got caught up buying these lipsticks in a variety of colours since they were such a fantastic cost for such high high quality products. I did find my HG MLBB lipstick with this exact same haul, however what business did I have buying a bright cool-toned pink lipstick? In my mind, I believed I might perhaps mix this with a nudey shade to tone it down. I’ve never used this aside from lightly dabbing it on my lips as well as then promptly wiping it off.  I’m sure a few of you like this shade however it’s just not for me.

So, ideally I’ve discovered my lesson – I’ll likely be purging 90% of these items. basically I might have ripped up a $20 expense as well as that would have had the exact same effect.  Now whenever I area a clearance bin at shoppers / Rexall or see something at Winners that I didn’t even understand I needed desired up until I saw it, I hear my bf’s voice, “YDSMBSM”.

You?  What useless makeup have you bought just since they were on sale?
